Have you ever had one, or more than one, little face staring at you....just wondering what is planned for the day. It's almost a daily occurrence here at my house, and surprisingly, staring back at them with the same blank look usually doesn't work. While I have plenty of ideas about what to do with kids, millions of craft projects to make or books to read, I tend not to make a plan until I see little faces staring at me. Sometimes there's a general outline of the day...but who's to say the weather will cooperate, or that the kids won't have a melt-down about the way I cut the apples for snack-time? I'm not a "go with the flow" person by nature, but life just seems to take me that way in everything I do, raising the kids, home improvements, "events" I decide to partake in (because I need more to do).
Today's adventure took us for a walk around the neighborhood, and since it's springtime and flowers are in bloom, we tried finding different color flowers, picked a few off of the neighbors' trees (no we did not pick any planted flowers, regardless of how many times I was asked)...we ended up with quite a large pile, which is a reminder to me that next time, I should bring something to carry the flowers in, such as a basket, a bucket, or even a brown paper bag....anything would have been better than the pile in my hands/pockets. Oh-well, maybe next time.
On to our next adventure.....
