Again, it's been an entire week. I don't think there's anyone out there reading my blog, but I still want to stay on top of things and write, on more than a weekly basis.....so, let me continue.
I think my biggest project in the last week was a birthday party for my oldest, a campout to be exact. We set up tents in the back yard, and had an all-you-can-eat night. Things started off with diner, hotdogs, Doritos, and Kool-Aid fruit punch, which I made 3 gallons of and let the kids help themselves to all night.....can you say never-ending sugar high? Then while the kids ran around, like chickens with their heads cut off, we cleaned up from dinner and got ready for dessert #1, cupcakes. When that was all over, the kids ran around some more, and we started a fire in the fire pit, which surprisingly didn't take as long as it usually does, and then it was time for dessert #2, S'mores. This activity consisted of shoving extra-large marshmallows into the fire, waiting for them to catch on fire, and then declaring them unfit to eat. Wash, rinse, & repeat. An entire bag of marshmallows later, I think a grand total of 7 S'mores were consumed by 5 kids. After the marshmallows were gone, we had some time to kill until it got dark, so the kids spent some time in the tent, playing cards...like little old men, it was hilarious. Once it was dark, we set up our final activity, an outdoor movie, we used a projector to watch "Hoodwinked". I feed the kids dessert #3, popcorn. When the movie was over, we attempted to put the kids to bed, the process actually didn't take as long as I thought it would, all of the kids were in the tent, fast asleep in just over an hour...not bad!! Morning started when the sun came up...literally....and we had pancakes & bacon for breakfast. I let the kids play outside until it was time to be picked up by their parents.
When the the 15 hour party was over, I was ready for a nap....
