Weekends are generally a free-for-all here. The kids have soccer games, the house needs to be cleaned, and there are errands to run.
This weekend my husband and I are dragging the kids around town to buy gifts for Mother's Day next week. We will use our usual methods, bribing with a donut at the beginning of the trip, offering to make at least one stop that interests them, and we always have their Nintendo DS's on hand for them to play while driving. It all sounds like the makings of a successful trip...but don't be fooled, the kids are always miserable while shopping.
