Can someone please talk to that dirt...

Well, it's a rainy day here in the neighborhood...which means not only do I not have a well thought out plan for the day, but now the plan is to be inside all day. I need to put my thinking cap on...

In other news, the grass seed I spent hours putting out 9 days ago (while my husband & oldest son were camping) is not growing.  I'm not sure what it is about my backyard that refuses to grow grass, but I finding it extremely annoying. I'm not asking for fancy or even nice grass...I'd settle for weeds that were green...but what I really don't want back there is dirt. Also, what makes the dirt in the front yard so different from the backyard?? I have plenty of nice green grass in the front. I think in my next life, I'll be rich enough to pay someone to make the grass grow.....

Back to my original problem...today's activities actually went quite nicely.  I took advantage of the rain outside and decided to talk about the rain...where did it come from, and what does it feel like? We made a rainy scene for our craft project today.....which by the way filled up about 45 mins of the morning; the kids were very much into making umbrellas! After snack time we watched an episode of Yo Gabba Gabba on Nick Jr On Demand, it was all about weather which fit in nicely to our day. When we went to the bus stop we took a few minutes to jump in puddles while the rain was conveniently taking a break.....I love it when things work out!
